Arooj Javed
Age 25 – Pakistan
I am Arooj Javed, from Punjab Pakistan. I have a master’s degree in Mass Communications with specialization in Public Relations. I have worked with the World Bank until 2014 when I decided to come to Italy to pursue my studies in “unity and peace building”. I am currently doing Master in Foundations and Perspectives for a Culture of Unity with specialization in Political science. My research is based on: ‘assessing the relation between religion and human development: Is religion a benefit or a hindrance to human development?’
Coming from Pakistan, one of the top five countries most affected by terrorism, my interest in peace is neither coincidental nor a mere passion. For me it is the only hope and dream for the future generations.
For me peace is the fruit of compassion. It is not the absence of bombs and missiles but the presence of tolerance, acceptance, forgiveness, and above all love.
