Franck Katshunga
Age 24 -Democratic Republic of Congo
Hi, I’m Franck Katshunga and I was born and live in the Democratic Republic of Congo. From a young age, I have worried that many young people in my country don’t live their passions and don’t use their talents. This has always been a great burden for me; I have felt that many were not certain why they exist.
To make the change I wanted to see around me, I created an association in 2013 on behalf of Elembo+, which carries the meaning ”Positive Footprint,” with the vision to work for a world of love and peace through quality education accessible to all, and leadership training.
Through the association, we facilitate access to school children who are at a disadvantage. In 2015, after raising funds, we provided school supplies to more than 250 underprivileged children and orphans we support schools through reading programs, art contests, and living in peace programs, with an approach that encourages discovery and use of talents in students.
Being passionate about music and computer graphics, I decided to be the change I want to see in others, so I used my different talents to raise awareness about love and peace, through songs, videos and images.
For me there is no peace without love, and peace for me is when any human being can say to another: I am you, you are me, we are one.
